This piece of work is based on what happens when a fluid flows past a diamond shaped obstruction. It doesn't have a title yet. It just feels like appropriate titles won't reveal themselves until all 21 of the flow series works are finished.
Silk habotai ground, silk thread and glass seed beads.
Running stitches provide directionality and movement.
Variegated threads increase the visual liveliness of the piece.
As with most of my work, solid areas are filled in with closely juxtaposed lines of stem stitch. It is a time consuming way to fill a space, but it gives a wonderful fluidity to the work.
