More work on paper

Another work on paper finished.  Again a depiction of a type of marine protozoa.  Terry thinks it looks like a thistle.  It kind of does.  It was very difficult to get the complex image to stand out against the complex background.  I'm still not sure that the intricacies of the design are obvious to someone who has not seen the graphite drawing of the design.  Let me know what you think.  Does it work?

The red and green vertical stripes lend a kind of Christmassy feel to this piece.  Happy Christmas everyone!

Not so sure about that one marta, from the pics it looks a bit "busy" and hard to see the design detail against the background but that could just be because it was difficult to photograph. I look forward to seeing the actual piece on my next visit.

Yeah, I'm afraid it's a little hard to see. The orange/yellow threads just don't stand out enough. I love the colors and the intricacy though.

Interestingly it looks more defined when viewed alongside the other two pieces. Part of the problem is the reflectivity of the acrylic paint. Bound to be some duds when experimenting. I'm learning more with each piece. Thanks for the comments.
